Biographical / Historical

College Maid Shop was a Self-Help Program that helped hundreds of women work their way through their studies at Maryville College. The shop produced products between 1920 -1959. During the time of the maid shop, it produced items like choir robes, graduation gowns, gym uniforms, and nurses’ uniforms for World War II. The program eventually declined because of supply and demand, making the college make the hard decision to close the shop.
